Life and Lifestyle

Although we don’t see it, copper is at the heart of our modern lifestyle.

Could you imagine your life without brushing your teeth, making a call on your mobile phone, working on your laptop or taking a nice photo with your digital camera? These are all things that we take for granted in our day to day lives,  and  copper plays a role in all of them.

Inside common appliances like electrical toothbrushes or hairdryers, tiny motor windings made from copper are at work. Special copper alloys help batteries last much, much longer.

Microchips in everything from smart phones to digital cameras are mounted on lead-frames pressed from strip made from special copper alloys.

Ultra-thin copper foil provides the plate for most printed circuit boards, and it is thanks to tiny copper cooling components that laptops can continue to get smaller as they become more powerful.
