Spanish Presidency underlines role of raw materials for economical success
Miguel Sebastian, Spanish Minster for Industry, Tourism and Trade, calls for new policies for the provisioning of mineral resources. During the closing ceremony of the European Minerals Conference 2010, he pointed out the importance of access to raw materials as critical to the success and competitiveness of European backbone industries like the chemical, automotive and aerospace industries.
These industries which bring in a total value of 1.3 billion Euros and provide employment to 30 million people in the EU, depend on raw materials like copper.
